This Pariká comes to us directly from Assis Kaxinawá, chief of Aldeia Pinuyá in the Colônia 27 Indigenous Land near Tarauacá, Acre — a Huni Kuin community of 53 families who live from hunting, fishing, planting, and the sacred medicines of the forest. “We know that everything we need is in the forest,” Assis reminds us. Every tin supports his community’s work of preserving their culture, language, and land.
