Our Copaiba oil comes from Copaifera trees native to the Amazon rainforest of South America (country of origin: Brazil). The oleoresin is tapped directly from the living tree through a small opening in the trunk, allowing the resin to flow naturally, and is collected in small batches.
About the Plant
Copaiba is the oleoresin of the Copaifera tree, a tall tropical hardwood of the Amazon. Several species are used, including Copaifera reticulata, Copaifera officinalis, Copaifera coriacea, and Copaifera langsdorffii. Its principal natural component is beta-caryophyllene.
