A kuripe is the small V-shaped pipe used to apply rapé (hapé) to yourself: one end rests at the nostril, the other at the mouth, and a single steady breath carries the medicine. It is the tool most people begin with, because it needs no second person and lets you set your own pace.

Each kuripe pipe here is handmade by Amazonian artisans, in bamboo or in hardwoods such as carobeira, muiracatiara, imbuia and imburana. Shape, length and weight vary from piece to piece, so no two are exactly alike.
