This classic green rape’ of the Apurina people is made with Awiry, a native amazonian tobacco that grows in the river beds which is only found in the dry season. It is considered a love or raw rape’, where the leaves are not fermented as is done in common rape’ tobacco and there is no ash. The leaves are dried in the sun and then ground. This is a unique blend referred to as “Rape’ of Light”, Apurina Awiri has a flowery scent and literally smells like being in the middle of the jungle. Very opening and deeply subtle.
The Traditional Rapé snuff is normally made of tobacco powder and other herbs along with different tree ashes blended into fine scented powder that is blown into the nostrils. It has been used since the olden days during different periods and occasions. It has been used by Amazonian tribes for various reasons such as a traditional remedy, a cornerstone in ceremonial activities and for recreational purposes.

Apurina is a very unique blend. Much lighter than traditional rape’ and carries a different energy entirely. I have personally found it to be most useful for devotional practice and for connecting to my heart.
